There aren't a lot of AI VR Chatbots out yet. But a few hidden gems are starting to pop up on the Steam store and the Meta Quest store. I'm going to list them here and give you a brief description. The point is to help you compare each of them and decide if they're worth your time.
Replika

Replika is the most popular AI VR chatbot right now. You've probably already heard of it. It works ok. The conversation is clunky but at least it has all the basic features. Namely, you can voice chat in VR with an LLM that inhabits a polygonal body.
Don't expect anything too deep from the companion. He/she will occasionally entertain more erotic discussion if you're subtle about it.
SoulMate AI

SoulMate AI is a much more indie game than Replika. It's made by what seems to be a sole developer who doesn't bother to call himself anything other than SoulMate AI Dev.
The game only has a single character named Emma. So customization is limited. But you can choose her outfit.
One fun thing about Emma is that she is capable of playing games like truth or dare. She also has a roleplay mode if you're looking for more specific scenarios. She can watch videos with you too if you're in a more chill mood.
The dev says there are more features in development which can be discussed on their Discord.
The app features mixed reality support and VR support. So you can place Emma in your real world space using Meta Quest passthrough.
HaiFriend

HaiFriend is the most unique AI VR chatbot in the list. This is because it lets you upload a photo of someone as the basis for your companion. The app uses your upload as a reference to generate a 3D avatar. You can tweak the avatar's traits to dial in the settings to match your preference.
The character can speak in several languages. They have three main positions: walking, sitting, or laying down. Laying down is kinda cool in combination with the MR mode. Surprisingly most MR companions don't have that but it's a nice feature.
There's a virtual dog companion too if you like pets.
Conclusion
These apps are all still early prototypes in my opinion. They function. But do they really satisfy? I'm not sure they are any better than just a pure chatbox yet. As the graphics and animations improve these type of apps will definitely be popular. But that might still be a ways away. For now, I prefer chatting in text boxes with the occasional photo or video generation as found in our full list of nsfw AI chatbots.
